Purpose of Adult Ministry
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 states "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!"
As a growing church, it is vital that UPCC continue to be purposeful in connecting lives. Connection = Growth and it starts with individuals being purposeful in getting involved in relationship-building opportunities. Satan loves isolation; so, with that fact in mind, we highly encourage the members of our church to be actively connected to other believers. We do this through men’s and women’s ministries, community groups, Connections time on Sundays, and family worship.
UPCC Women’s Ministry
Flourish is the concept that our spiritual lives are in the process of growing in a healthy and vibrant way and that is the desire for the women of UPCC. Whether it’s physical, spiritual, or emotional support, life is navigated through the power of Christ and the power of relationships. The women of UPCC seek to grow together through connection, prayer, Bible study, accountability, and service together. If you would like to find out more information about the women’s ministry and receive our women’s monthly newsletter, please contact our Women’s Director, Becca Derstine (firstname.lastname@example.org).
UPCC Men’s Ministry
The purpose of men’s ministry is for encouragement, accountability, and exhortation with a desire for men to share the real and deep struggles of life. Men are naturally independent, often failing to recognize the need for the stuggles mentioned above. Biblical manhood is crucial to the life of our church, so spending time with our brothers and sharing the truth about our lives is a priority. Everything that we share and everything that we do is put through the filter of God’s Word.
After our Sunday service, we gather as Elder-led groups to go deeper and wider with the message. This is a time of Biblical teaching, group sharing, and application as we digest together the truth of God’s Word. Our focus each week is on the passage and topic that we are studying in our Sunday morning service. It also serves as a great time to connect with others in the church in a smaller group setting.
On the second Sunday of every month, we do not have a second hour Connections time but instead break out into different homes. The purpose of this time is to follow the model we see in the New Testament of Christians gathering to share a meal together. This time also serves as a great avenue in getting to meet and know individuals of UPCC on a deeper level.
